AP Scheduling problem..help me!!!

Hey everyone...

I finally made an account here hoping to get good advice from other serious students....I am an upcoming Junior, and I had a difficult time scheduling all of my AP classes because my school doesn't offer many of them...I am hoping to one day pursue a career in medicine, and I want to attend a good college. Here is the dilemma: I want to take both AP Bio and AP Chem while I'm in school, and I also need physics honors (no ap physics). I planned on dropping my language to fit both ap bio and physics in this year, and chem senior year...but it didnt work with the scheduling...the only way it would work is to either sacrifice a science, or sacrifice Orchestra....I play the viola in school...2nd chair in the district....and playing in school orchestra allows me to participate in regional orchestras....so i have a problem lol. But, if i did quit in school orchestra, I could still take private lessons, continue my participation in a local university orchestra (hopefully 1st chair), and play in my string quartet (keeps me very busy)... but anyway, what schedule will look better???

Junior year:
orchestra
physics
ap ushistory
ap english
precalc
spanish 4
(meaning i can take only one ap science senior year)

or
physics
ap bio
ap ushistory
ap english
precalc
spanish 4
(and take ap chem senior year)

help! : )

You have your senior year too. Could you take AP Bio and AP Chem senior year?

no....the scheduling doesnt work with all of the lab requirements, plus a calc lab that i will have... : (....and i would have to wind up dropping orchestra anyway senior year...is it worth it to take it for this year then??

Take orchestra and self study ap bio, it's the easiest test you'll ever have to take. Just buy a barrons book, about 200 pages of material in there, read the book, do the tests, and take the test, almost a guaranteed 5. I had a friend in Ap bio, he's a good friend but he's not the brightest, and he had to almost cheat on class tests to even scrape by with a C and he still managed a 4 on the AP test so you'll be fine if you self studied.

It'll take about 3hrs a week max if you are really diligent, 5hrs a month if you are a bit lazy. :D
