***AP Score Results Thread 2016-2017***

World History: 3

I definitely screwed up the multiple choice but I am relieved that I passed!

English Lit: 5

US Gov: 5

World History: 5

Very excited with World since I self-studied!

Physics 1: 3

Physics 2: 4

I am disappointed because while I was expecting the 4 in Physics 2, I was expecting a 5 in Physics 1. I am shocked I did better on Physics 2!

French - 3.

Really wish I got a four, but I have only been taking French for two years, so I should be at least glad that I passed an exam suited for fourth-year French students. But many competitive colleges do not accept 3s either, so that kind of sucks. Nonetheless, I am happy to have passed

AP Bio: 3
AP Chem:3
AP Lang: 3

Kind of dissapointed as I expected a 4 on all (even a 5 in Lang) but oh well. :-/

AP English Lang: 3

AP Lit: 4

AP Chem: 4

AP US Gov: 4

AP Stats: 5

AP Calc AB: 5

Overall happy with my scores. Going into college with 54 credits!

lang: 5
us history: 5
chemistry: 5
bio: 4
chinese: 3

Overall I’m happy. Considering I self-studied Bio, a 4 is pretty good. Chinese is a little disappointing, but I’m also not even Chinese and it isn’t my native language so oh well.

4 on AP Lang. Was pretty sure I got a 4 so I’m pleased. Was surprised at how many of my friends did worse than they expected though. My school prepared us really well in my opinion.

USH: 5
Psychology: 5
Biology: 4

Super happy about US and Psychology! I was actually as equally thrilled with bio considering I thought I bombed the exam.

Predictions:

Apush-3

Lang-4

Reality:

Apush 5

Lang 5

I was shook

Calc AB-5
Lang-4
Spanish Lang-4
Apush- 4
Pretty happy, especially with Calc and Spanish. If anyone’s curious, here are the distributions:
https://apscore.collegeboard.org/scores/about-ap-scores/score-distributions//

Physics 1: 4

APUSH: 5

Language and Comp: 5

Much better than I thought…maybe I should have self-studied some but I was worried I couldn’t handle these three.

Physics 1: 5
Calculus BC: 5 (AB sub: 5)
US History: 5
Chemistry: 4
English Lang: 5

I’m pretty proud of my scores! It would’ve been nice to get a 5 on Chemistry but whatever, it’s still passing.

World History- 5

Art History- 4 (was expecting a 2 due to terrible teacher but studying paid off)

Overall pretty happy with the results

World History - 5
Lang - 4

I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT 5 ON WHAP; WHEN I OPENED UP THE SCORE PAGE AND SAW IT I JUST EXCLAIMED “WHAT!?” I was expecting a 3 on that. That class was so bad. XD

@masterblackninja - Though it may feel like it, you are certainly not a failure. These few numbers by no means determine your success in life or your worth. Know that you are not alone—there are many others who get low scores on AP exams, too. I think what matters is what you learned from the class itself. If the AP courses you took were challenging and enjoyable for you (unless you self-studied for them, which is really challenging, and those efforts should be recognized!), then I think that means they were worthy of your time. So long as you learned something and grew in some way, then that’s what’s important.

You are not a failure. I promise. You will get wherever you need to go so long as you are passionate. I find it impressive that you took 3 APs; I’ve heard that Physics and Chem are both tough. And AP Lang had crappy MC questions this year. Take care of yourself; you deserve the best!

The scores are what I expected. Not really sure what to think of them to be honest.

BC Calc - 5(good at math but exam felt difficult, curve paid off)
Span Lang - 4(suck at spanish)
Phys Mech - 5(exam felt really easy, so)
Phys E&M - 4(guessed like 50% of questions and frq)
APUSH - 5(good teacher easy class)

@CometCatcher Thank you so much for the encouragement, it really means a lot. Initially, I was really disappointed in myself, but now when I think about it, I’ll use this as a learning experience to better myself and prepare for what’s to come. I certainly did gain considerable knowledge by taking chem, lang and physics, but those countless hours of studying and corrections aren’t in vain because I am now much more prepared for college. Also yes, both chem and physics were very challenging haha. Most of what I remember from junior year was sacrificing my mornings and afternoons doing test corrections for chem and physics. And yes Lang MC questions were pretty crappy. I wish you luck too! Take care!

Alright, so my problem is calculus AB. My scores looked like this overall:

AP Calc AB: 2
AP Psychology: 5
AP Macro: 4
AP Micro: 4
AP US History: 5
AP Eng Lang: 5

I signed up for calculus BC, but I don’t know if I should take it anymore. I got a 91% in AB and was actually pretty surprised with my score. But I don’t know what’s best for me to do. Someone please give me some constructive advice!

Okay, I’m a little upset/confused by one of my scores.

Lang - 5 (English is my strength—had a teacher who didn’t teach at all and actually got fired because of this, so I’m satisfied)

APUSH - 5 (great teacher, was expecting this)

Research - Didn’t get back yet (code 96 or whatever. apparently it’s a school-wide issue, my teacher is getting concerned)

And…Calc AB. Go into the test expecting a 4/5. Got 4s on all the practice tests I took. I go into the room, MC is decent but not great, and then I get to the FR and blank out, but know that I still got some points. I expected a 3, maybe a 4 if the curve was generous. It felt slightly worse than the practice tests that I had taken, but not that much worse. I look today and see a shining “2.” What!!!

My school has an extremely high AB pass rate (incredible teacher), and I had an A in the class all year. I mean, I’m very unhappy, but I’m taking the BC exam next year and hopefully that’ll override this. I haven’t told anyone except for family and my closest friends, especially because my schoolmates can get catty and I don’t want them to be like, “Oh, wow, I actually did better than you on this? HAHAHA.” I’m trying to be a better person, and this would just result in me making some comment that would probably not be very nice; it is therefore in my best interest to keep this little fact to myself!

Is there a thread for dejected AP students with bad scores? I just need to grieve for a while!
