Ap scores-incoming student

<p>hey guys i will be attending brown in the fall and i am soooo confused about what i should be doing with my ap scores. i was planning on not sending any of them because i thought they didnt count but im hearing different things everywhere. will someone (current student or something) please clarify what it is i should be doing? </p>

<p>If the APs you took can place you out of a class in the link above, send them in, even if you’re thinking about retaking that class. If they can’t, don’t bother.</p>

<p>I’m not sure about the retaking courses as you say. Apparently, incoming students were e-mailed by a dean saying that this isn’t possible. A thread from a couple weeks ago includes this (pretty clear) quote:</p>

<p>In my opinion, only a few AP credits are useful on your transcript unless you’re trying to graduate early - for example, I found math 9 and 10 incredibly useful because it kept me from needing overrides for a number of courses. On the other hand, retroactive credit and unassigned credit (Physics 3, Latin Unassigned)…not very useful for me, even though I did send transcripts to classics graduate schools.</p>

<p>My apologies. This must have been a recent change as some acquaintances were able to retake Bio20 and remove the AP credit (same for calc).</p>
