Hi everyone! I’m in a sort of dilemma right now with whether or not to report my AP scores. I took 7 AP classes and took 9 AP tests, scored 7 5s, a 4 and a 3. I don’t want to report the 3, but I took the AP class for that test, so it would be clear I either didn’t take the test for that class or didn’t score well. I’ve received various views on whether or not to report the 3, and I’ve concluded that it’s probably risky reporting the 3.
That being said, would it be wise to not report any of my AP scores and instead list my National AP Scholar Award? The award requires the student to score a 4 or higher on 8 or more AP exams with an average score of 4 or more on all exams. This way, naturally, I’m assuming, colleges would assume I scored a 4 or more on all the AP tests for the classes I took, and in addition, self-studied for another AP test and scored a 4 or more on that.
You are overthinking this… I don’t think admissions officers will look twice at whether or not you took the test for all the AP courses on your transcript. And a 3 is fine. Regardless, you should list your National AP Scholar Award.
