I'm Japanese/Chinese, and I got a 4 on AP Spanish Lang. I was wondering if any other non-Hispanic got a 4/5 on the exam.

I took AP Spanish Language in my sophomore year and got a 5. I’m 100% Chinese. Languages are kind of my thing. :)

My spanish “isn’t available at this time”. So annoying.

I’m Indian and got a 5. Biggest shock of my life. I mean, I know that I answered everything decently on the exam, etc. but I thought that all the native speakers would blow me out of the water.

how dd you guys prepare? any specific books or shows(for practice )? im taking this next year and would love to get a 5. im non-native also

My teacher’s techniques:
- She used Tri

Thank you so much! We got “Una Vez Mas” as a textbook but its really only grammar practice and we have to do some exercises for summer hw as well as 10 total journal entries about current events, soap operas and just general themes. I think speaking will be a problem for me so I’ll concentrate on working on that throughout the year. Again, thank you very much for the detailed reply!

I got a 5! My teacher just sent me my score. I couldn’t freaking believe it and had to ask her to make sure it was my score.

I got a five, and I’m Caucasian. However, the fact that my mom is the high school Spanish teacher (and thus I’ve been exposed to it much of my life, via travel and such) may be a bit of an advantage :).

I’m Chinese, and I got a 5. Definitely was expecting a 4.

I hope I can do as well as you guys did on the exam next year. Im non-native but I’ve stayed 2 weeks in Spain on a school trip and all of my spanish teachers have considered to be one of their best students. The summer really has made me forget a lot of my Spanish tho…

My D scored a 5 in 2011 after spending a school year as an exchange student in S. America in '09-10. She had never studied Spanish prior to her arrival. She took a hispanic lit course at a university in fall '10 but only got a B. She did study grammar pretty hard on her own prior to the exam.

What is the best review book(s) for this AP exam? My teacher is really bad and I have a lot of studying to do for this exam. I am shooting for a 4 but even getting a 3 will be hard. What do you guys suggest doing to prepare for the exam?

what tips do you guys have for reading, that seems to be my area of struggle. I especially have problems spending too much time on the selections.
I finally got my listening down after simply paying attention to the tracks instead of looking at the questions, my writing is a little sketchy but I need to work on it more.
I have considered myself “destined” to get a 3 because I’m just the average white kid taking the test but I really wanna push to get a 4, thanks!
