AP Spanish

that was un poco interesante...one of the reading passages was at AP English Lit level..and afterwards i felt like I ran a 5K but then proceeded to laugh after seeing half of my class rush over to take ap stats..so yeah that was fun..i can almost touch that 4

Uhh I'm really nervous now because I don't think that I used subjunctive in the essay. I used conditional, future, and present, and instead of saying like "Es necesario que los candidatos escriban un ensayo," I said "Es necesario escribir un ensayo." Blehh, do you guys think that's okay? And yes, the Castillian Spanish listening= not fun.

That's what I did, ecm5227. The prompt sucked.

ill tell u rite now i wrote my entire paper in subjunctive and future. But as long as you utilized enough expressions such as "es necesario + inf" to showcase your mastery of the language you should not be worried if you did not make room for subjunctive.

Do they care about content? Mine was kind of jumbled up. Wasn't a clear point but I tried to use any sophisticated grammar structure whenever I could/appropriate.

Yes, I think the do, Omg...

Ic...Well I thought my essay was a little better than what I usually wrote in class. But I said something completely irrelevant for that 5th question response thing and then blanked out. And for the cartoon I only got to the 4th picture. O.O

But other than that I don;t know.

Yeah, I only got to the fourth pic, too. I was going off the time on my recorder; not until the end did I realize that that was not in seconds. I had things to say for the last two, but...Oh, it just sucked...

all you people do is worry...just think of your very own spanish class as a representative of the AP population. Pick the score of your choice. The 5's are reserved for native speakers. Therefore, you pick 4. Go to collegeboard.com and look up the score distribution. A little over 23% of test takers receive a 4 on this test. Your class has 20 students, excluding your argentinian girlfriend and that one kid in every class that has a mother from Guatemala. Now ask yourself: am i one of the top four students in my class?

I expected to completely fail this test. Actually, I still don't think I passed it.

Let's see...

Listening= better than I thought, but still pretty bad, esp. the interview. I didn't do so well on one of the short narratives, either.
Reading= horrible! This is usually my best thing, but I was soo tired. I did NOT get enough sleep last night, thanks to the rehearsal for the musical I'm in. And I made the mistake of taking an allergy pill before the exam, which made me drowsy. So I couldn't concentrate at all, and didn't answer a lot. I don't think I would have done well even if it had been in English.
Fill-in= Much easier than I expected. There were only two I wasn't sure of. But I could have made other mistakes as well.
Essay = Not bad. Though one paragraph didn't flow quite right because I wanted to put in the imperfect subjunctive. And I didn't use that many verb tenses, though I used the subjunctive several times.
Speaking= So-so. I kept stuttering, and making mistakes and correcting myself. And I'm not sure I really answered the directed response questions. But usually this is my worst section. On practices for the directed responses, there have been times when I didn't say anything coherent for a few questions.

And unfortunately, I had an IB English test after. Completely failed that, because I was so tired and burnt out...

My fifth question consists of "Creo queeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee (yes I extended the que a lot).... ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Creo que es muy importante queeeeeeeeeeeeee" and thats pretty much it... but the other ones were awesome... I convinced a friend that it would be in her best interest to eat chocolate to make her happy again :)

Well i dont know about u guys.... but this ap sucked for me. I thought it was going well then realized i had messed up the bubbling.... so when we were allowed to go on to part b i opted to fix my answer sheet. I did not have enough time to finish the reading comp so i chose to completely skip one passage and just focus on the other ones. Everything else was good...but i wonder if thats enough. I hope i get a 4. It's so sad... this whole year i was sure i would get a 5. What is considered to be a good score on the reading comp? I feel like i got most of the questions right and am hoping that skipping the passage which had 5 questions... will not completely destroy me.

You only need a 73% on the entire test to get a 5...therefore, skipping some questions on the reading comp is not a very big deal...am I correct?

listening- the interviews were pretty bad, but the short dialogues were pretty easy to understand
reading- the reading i thought was just hard in general
fill ins/essay- i thought the prompt was pretty stupid...i used conditional, future, and a little bit of subjunctive...
speaking- the picture sequence was easier than last year, so i was happy with that...i completely BSed the directed response hopefully got 3s on them

overall i think i passed...probably not a 5 though

PrincessPaige79, that sounds like most of my responses...I'm going to get a 1.

I agree with most of what everyone has said here. All of the multiple choice, especially the interview and the reading comp, was very difficult. Part II was a lot better for me. The grammar fill-ins were simple (we do tons of them in class) with a couple exceptions, and I did VERY well on the essay. Everyone that took it said that they did well on the essay, too. I'm also confident in my picture prompt response. The directed questions, well, three of them were pretty easy, but two of them I couldn't understand what the guy was saying, so I just picked up one word and talked about something that related to it. I'm almost positive I got a 4.

Yeah the directed questions I gave up on. I knew only 2 out of 5 and just said nothing for the other 3. :(

hmm i had a pretty easy time with the test, but then again, i DO speak spanish at home :P

sigh, i really really really really really really want a 5 on the spanish exam... LOL, i know i kicked butt on the student produced (section 2) part.... but i think i only got like a little over half of the reading comp, it was hard!.... ( i was getting mid-to-high Cs and low Bs on those in my spanish class)....sigh... i really wanted a 5... if those native speakers said it was easy, ill go nuts!! me and this other girl are the only born us citizens in our spanish class... sigh, everyone else is either in ESOL or just got out... not fair! the class was taught in spanish the WHOLE time, the AP was protored in SPANISH... and if i get a 4, man.... AHHHHHH!!!!

lol, someone vent with me! has anyone taken lit? cause i think ill just die next year...

What the... we did not have any practice tests at all. We even had to hand in a composition the day before the test.
