This year I have elected to take 5 AP classes and am doing well in all of them except for AP Spanish. I have taken Spanish 1-3 (starting in 8th grade) and after taking Spanish 3H (which is supposedly one of the most difficult Spanish classes in the school) and finishing with an A, my teacher was very adamant that I take AP. As of now I am struggling with a B minus/B, which is far below any other grades on my transcript so far, and I’m not sure what to do. I could switch into Spanish 4H but that would flip my entire schedule, which is not something I want to go through at this point. Alternatively, I can drop Spanish all together and take a Psychology course, which is a subject I’m actually interested in. My question is, how bad does it look to not take a 4th year of foreign language? I am looking to apply to direct Med programs and other selective schools and am worried that this will negatively impact me. Should I suck it up and deal with what would probably be a B or B+ by the end of the year, drop to 4H, or drop out of Spanish all together? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!
