AP State Scholar

I would like to start off this thread by saying that I know with only 7 AP exams, I have ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE IN HELL at winning the AP state scholar award. Even in my state, Alabama, it is just not enough.

BUT...

My mom thinks that I have a chance (she said a 20% chance, and I almost started choking on what I was eating from laughing). She honestly thinks that 7 might be enough. I told her that to even be in the running, I would need at least 10, and probably 12-13 to have a decent shot-- maybe more. She disagrees, and we had a debate about it.

Now here is where I need YOU guys. I bet my mom $10 that every AL state scholar in the last 5 years has taken at least 9 exams. I know I am right, but the hard part is proving it. Does anyone know where I could find such information? A website or something?

Haha, this is funny. I wish I could help you, but I don't know if they even release that information let alone where to find it.

You're probably right, though, no matter what you do there is always someone out there doing better. It's the sad truth.

arent people in alabama stupid... like seriously i heard from my aunt that many people in alabama drop out of high school (like 30%)

@westsidewolf1989

No offense to anybody, but you're from Texas.

In Texas the AP cut off for state is just as high as in CA and NY...

LOL, if you want to get accepted to Stanford, MIT, Duke, etc., like you mentioned in your chances thread, then you better open up your mind, buddy.

Welll durrrhh... Peeple in Alllllaaaabaaamaa is reely stoopid. Us can't spell rite or nuthing cuz usjust didn't take too that fancy book lurnin' and sturff. Who needs Calclus when yous can shoot deers and squirrels and 'possums with rifels

eye roll

Yes, there ARE stupid people in Alabama, just like there are stupid people in Texas, New York, and China...But not all of us are low IQ, thank you very much.

And believe me, as a native Californian, I DON'T have a lot of Alabama state pride, but perhaps past experiences with southern stereotypes have rendered me particularly sensitive to anything that could be perceived as further stereotyping.

Anyway, back to the original point of the thread... Does anyone know where I can find such information?

I don't like how they choose state scholars. It just rewards a decent student who has been a rabid financial sponsor of college board.
