AP Statistics over AP Calculus AB?

I will be a high school senior this fall.
Currently my schedule of classes is set as this:
- Ap English IV
-Ap Gov/Econ
-Ap Physics
-Ap Stat
-Ap Calculus AB
However, I am really skeptical on taking AP Calculus AB because the class offered at my school is very weak and math is a very weak subject for me. I am leaning towards Business majors and considering of changing my schedule of classes to this:
-Ap English IV
-Ap Gov/Econ
-Ap Stat
-Physics(required to be enrolled in AP Calculus AB in order to take Ap Physics)
-Ap Art History

I do not know how it will affect my chances in the college admissions process so any insight would be great. Thank you.

For majoring in business, you will likely need to take both calculus and statistics in college, if you do not have AP credit or your college does not accept any AP credit you may have.

I know I need it for sure in college but if I don’t take Ap Calculus AB right now in high school that will be okay as long I take it in college right?

Depends what colleges you are looking at, some strongly recommend that you take calculus…

My D took AP Stats in HS and is now at a top 20 LAC as a STEM major. That required calculus, so she took it her sophomore year.

You do not need calculus to get into a good school, and yes you can take it when you get to college.

For Business I would suggest AP stat but if anything else go for that Calculus, that helps you get a better start in college.

Biology major? Other STEM majors usually need students to take calculus as frosh (if not already done in high school) to avoid delayed graduation due to calculus being at the head of important prerequisite sequences. Biology, on the other hand, is not all that math intensive compared to other STEM majors. For biology, statistics is likely more important than calculus, although calculus can help someone understand statistics better.

She is not the dreaded and unemployable biology major. She’s in geology, has a great summer internship and is scheduled to graduate on time. No calc in HS seems to be working out for her.

I got an MBA late in life and needed calculus to apply which I hadn’t taken in either college or HS. I took at an extension school. That also worked out fine.
