AP STATS 2006 discussion board

last FR question raped me... :(

i didnt take stat, but im taking bio and us

there are no deductions in free responses. you're just awarded points for hitting points that they are looking for

Was "s" the standard deviation? Was s equal to 3.03? This exam is gonna have a very unique curve (I hope)

oh, thanks NJ, thats excellent!
What's the total amt of points one can get in FR?

yep I think s was the st. dev

Bombed last FR question also! *** were they talking about in that one?

chi squared?

Did you guys use expected values, etc?

ROFL! that extended response was crazy? are we allowed to talk yet?
well, the test was a lot of common sense and detail.. I feel good so far, but the easy exams are usually first.

You cant use expected values with only one row.

man I wish I could discuss now since it's really fresh

it mentioned 68 degrees was the temp of the room, and it was measuring how off the reading was

guys i dont wanna get banned, and we need to wait 48 hrs, aim chat, anyone?

Don't you just get the standard deviation of the values for s. Then plug in the formula, and that is your chi-square statistic?

Yes, lets aim chat.

"apstats"

Join in for a hot discussion ;)

I'll refrain from discussing specifics for now (stupid Center for Testing Integrity), I guess.

Anyway, the test was a lot harder than I expected it to be. I didn't skip any MC, but I had trouble with a few, and I know I got one wrong (on a very stupid mistake). Free response was definitely the hardest I've taken including all the practice tests in class. 6 was kind of ridiculous (I just realized I probably didn't do "a" correctly, and I know I made a calculator entry mistake in "b"), and my class skipped over two crucial parts for the one on suds. Also, "a" was a bit strange for the shrimp one.

Yeah I think i might have gotten A wrong, too, thus messing up b.

B had nothing to do with A. B was related to that stupid-ass formula.

honestly, my calculator decided to hate me on 6b in the FR so I just made up a number and moved on. honestly, that's what physics teacher is like... "if you have no idea make up a number and move on"

Even if you make up a number, how did you manage to do the chi-squared test?

How many questions did you guys leave blank?

i RAN OUT OF TIME ON LIKE 7 QUESTIONS.

grrrr.....

If you meant that for the FR, then Im afraid you're screwed.

Suprisingly I only did two hypothesis tests and no chi-square tests. I thought there would be a lot more math.
