I'm taking AP Calc AB at school.

And I want to self study stats at home.

Doable? If so, can someone recommend good stats study prep book(s)?

i’m sure its doable, especially if you are someone interested in math. i took calc bc, and it was fine, and i also self-studied ap world history this year. i haven’t taken ap stats yet (next year), but from what i’ve heard, it’s an easy class. i’m sure calc ab along with self-studying ap stats is doable. i’m sure you could self-study ap stats with just a prep book, maybe princeton review? again, i haven’t taken stats yet, so i’m not sure about review books.

Probably possible, but maybe talk to someone who’s done it that thinks like you. Stats is a totally different way of thinking than algebra and calculus. Maybe get study book out of library or borrow a text and read a little to see how it clicks with the way you think.

Statistics isn’t really a “different way of thinking.” It’s just data interpretation and applying rules and law to analyze said data. Overall, it’s pretty easy and also my favorite class thus far.

I think it is definitely possible, you will just need to do some extra work.

Stats is a lot different than calculus though; you need to keep that in mind. It would be easier to study two sciences, because there is some overlap (ie. bio and chem), but for stats and calc, they’re not very similar at all, but again, if you are willing to put in work and time, you will be able to do both of them. Personally though, I would recommend waiting and taking them separately, because each has a lot of rules to memorize and learn, and I just don’t think it’s really worth it.
