I have a 4 on psychology and I would like to know if that would validate Beh Sci 110. Also, this spring I will have the chance to take the following AP tests: statistics, literature, and microeconomics.

My plan is to not take the microeconomics test because the only way I could get validation is if I also took the macroeconomics test. I really don’t think I’ll have time to study for two AP tests so I would appreciate someone’s advice on which test I should study for: statistics or literature? According to the AFA website a 5 in literature will validate English 111 and a 4/5 in statistics (Plus adequate score on AFA Placement Exam) would validate Math 300/356.

I hate English so I would love to get that validated, but I only need a 4 on statistics (plus “adequate score” on placement exam…).

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.

Yes, it looks like that will work for Beh 110.
What you need to remember is that you still have to take that placement exam for stats, and even if you get a 5 on the AP test, when you are tired from basic, stressed out, and haven't looked at math for months, that may be difficult. I personally knew it was unlikely that I would have gotten a 5 on the AP english, because while I am good at english in general, the test questions were very odd and I overanalyzed way too much. So, I studied HARD for AP calc and even before I left for basic, I reviewed it. So, I am stuck taking english 111 next semester, but I don't have to slog through calc.

It really depends on what you think you can do, and by the way, you take stats your junior year and english freshman year, so that may play a role in your decision

yep. alot of tests here require "placement tests." so dont get your hopes up on validating everything, because you'll be tired as heck during basic when you take your tests. do your best though, and try to validate as much as possible

So let's say I validate English and BS. What would I do for my first year? Would I just have two less classes or would I have to take something else instead?

you'd take something else instead
BUT it would free up your schedule for the future so you don't have to take more than the minimum number of classes.

If you validate enough that you have fewer than the minimum classes (5) for a semester further down the line, you can choose something that interests you.

Validating is very nice. Even with my minor, I only have 6 classes a semester (5 class 1st semester frosh and currently scheduled for only 5 1st semester as a firstie). Helps a LOT with the workload.
