Oh my god I think I must’ve accidentally spelled salutary as “salutory” on my leq. I defined what it was, but I don’t think I used it more than 10 times and I think my messy handwriting will cover for a couple times. How many points will they take off for that?
@michelle
Goldwater document talked about FDR
Interstingly enough I compared how new conservatism hearkened back to an earlier Time much like the kkk of the 1920s. Overall test was ok but I wrote about the seven years war with little knowledge. Any thoughts on the conservatism idea?
and I did talk about the rise of the New RIght
I think I did mention FDR, but he is basically the birth of big government that conservatives opposed so it’s important.
@Smittens @schakrab no, if you looked at the date, you would’ve inferred that the source was about lbj and his great society programs.
yeah it was factors that contributed to the rise of the new right from 60-89…not factors in 60-89 which contributed to the rise. And since a document mentioned FDR they should give you points for using that. used plenty of other outside information too like iran hostage crisis, stagflation, Carter soft on communism and failing to continue detente, counterculture as well
Did anyone have Form S?
@michelle426 Luckily I talked about the Great Society as well, FDR was kind’ve used for fluff
Guys… It was about the rise of the NEO-CONSERVATIVES. NOT THE OLD ONES. The neoconservatives were a reaction to counterculture and liberalism post ww2.
@schakrab the document in no way mentioned fdr. If you looked at the date the document was printed, it was like 1960 something, and that was wayyy after fdr’s time and into lbj’s time.
the document mentioned FDR. LBJ’s Great Society was the best argument but other things are still correct
What in the world was the conservation/TR question referencing to? The phrasing of the question, “implication of public policy”, was impossible to interpret. Were you just supposed to state a hypothetical public policy that the quote given would enforce?
Lol at the fact that I thought I could put FDR in my essay for synthesis because his programs influenced LBJ’s
@schakrab I guess so. But I used Great Society because it was simply the best argument for the occasion.
stating FDR or not doesnt affect the analysis because it was about the government expansion and concern about budget.
I really didn’t study much for apush…but THANK GOODNESS i decided to cram this morning and watch Adam Norris’s Period 9 in 10 minutes review video. it saved me on the dbq (form o)
How many points do they take off for historical inaccuracies? Like for example, saying the Molasses Act was passed after the 7 Years War?
My problem for the DBQ was that the Goldwater document and the Friedman document were both before Johnson’s presidency, so I struggled to tie them to the Great Society. My DBQ was about (1) Carter’s failures in foreign policy (OPEC, Iranian Hostage Crisis), (2) liberalism’s failure to right the economy (the Great Society) and the expansion of the federal government (the first half of this was originally part of #1 and I was going to talk about Carter’s domestic failures, but then I realized that the big gov’t part wasn’t enough for its own period. I tried to fix my intro to reflect what I wrote but it was hard… I hate pens! I did so much crossing out), and (3) a perceived decline in morality (rising crime rate, more babies born out of wedlock, Phyllis Schafley/STOP ERA). Tbh I feel like both of my long answers had pretty weak theses. I had a lot of outside info. Actually that’s not true for the long essay (I did Mex-Am War)… I basically just rehashed this article we read in class :(. I didn’t talk about the war but focused on debate afterwards and the different proposals. Not my strongest essay.
But I think I did very well on MC and pretty well on SAQ, so hoping for a 5 (at least a 4).
@Willynilly123 Really depends on the context of how it is used tbh… if it’s meant to display the effect of the 7 Years War or something along those lines then it may affect you poorly unless you had other supporting evidence then they may let it slide.
