***AP U.S. HISTORY 2015***

One thing that helped me to remember the details vividly is actually visualizing the textbook and the information inside.

This is great for a number of reasons.

  1. Since the textbook usually goes chronologically I was able to estimate the time of when an event happened.
  2. I also was able to recall certain diagrams or pictures that would jog my memory on certain topics.
  3. It is much easier to retain facts or ideas if you can connect them with something.

Note: I realize that not everyone will find this technique usefu or practical; however, it served me well.

Managed to get a 5, despite not knowing any APUSH until about two weeks before the test. I had a really terrible teacher and started watching Adam Norris’s videos two weeks before the exam. I crammed like crazy 4-5 hours per night and went over all the essay formats. Definitely didn’t expect a 5 in a class where I knew absolutely and got 70s 80s on tests.

Crammed the entire course the day before the exam and got a 4. I think I’m going to retake this exam next year but cram the entire course in 2 days instead of 1 for the 5.

Got a 5 and 790 on subject test!!! THANK YOU LARRY KRIEGER!!!

When u get a 5 but u still crie bc u know u missed 3 MC questions

Crazy CCers.

Does anyone know the curve this year?
that awful moment when ur on the west coast and u still don’t know your score…

@tigerss i’m in CA, and I know I got a 5 already. use a proxy browser like tunnelbear, tor, or open door.

@tigerss

5 - 9.3%
4 - 17.8%
3 - 23.6%
2 - 25%
1 - 24.3%

@michelle426 I tried using tunnelbear and it still isn’t working! Did you use USA as your location?

@hssenior1313 I set my country to the US, and I used it on the first day scores came out, about 3 hours after the release. It’s very possible they could have patched it.

To those of you who got 5s:
-what review books did you use, if any?
-were there any youbtube channels or resources that werent books that you found helpful? (e.g. Adam Norris)

Thank you

@Jbwag1
-I didn’t use any review books, but I did read/take notes on my APUSH textbook (I think it was called past to present but it doesn’t matter) cover to cover.
-Adam Norris is the absolute best, WAY WAY WAY better than crash course. It makes me cringe when people advocate for crash course because the guy talks way to fast and it isn’t focused on the APUSH curriculum; Adam Norris follows the curriculum, helps with essays/prompts, has reviews for each chapter, unit, and the whole shebang. You can find him on YouTube. He’s also really funny and talks slower and emphasizes certain things.

Also, I made notecards on quizlet for each term with 1) what it is and 2) why it’s important, that my teacher gave (some chapters there were over 60 of them). On quizlet you can search definitions that other people wrote and edit/copy them.

It may seem like a lot, just stay organized and make time for it and it will seem like no big deal. Also, I see that some people crammed the night before and still got a 4 or 5 so maybe all my work was for nothing.

@Jbwag1 I read maybe 50% of my textbook, lol.

I honestly thought I was going to receive a 3, but I’m just so happy its a 4.I studied so much for this test and it was my only 4. All my other scores were 5’s.

I got a 3!! I’m so happy right now. I forgot my AP number and had to call. I was sure I failed because all of my friends told me that they got a 2 or 1. (we were freshmen - it was our first AP) The hard work payed off! Ready to kick ass in AP Gov this year.

@Jbwag1 I used no review books, but my friend used Princeton Review in our mini study sessions. Adam Norris was especially helpful with her AP review videos(that’s basically all I used to study). I also used crash course, it was helpful in getting the big ideas across. I have a list of other websites that provide chapter/book summaries that I also used if you’d want to pm me to get the links.
