AP U.S. History is killing me... Procrastination.

I just started APush 1week ago and they didn't give us the textbooks until yesterday and I have a test of Friday for chapters 1-3. I don't have a lot of time and I try to read the chapters but it takes me a long time, I understand what I read but it just takes me too long.

Does anyone have a more effective way for me?? Should I just read chapter summarys?

Don’t complain about it do something. If you can’t complete the assignments on time because you’re procrastinating you have nobody to blame but yourself.

^Seconded.

Its not assignments. My teacher hasn’t even gave us one yet. I just don’t get how to learn the material? What do you guys do??

Then why the hell did you put procrastination in the title?

I don’t know, I read the chapter…

i hated apush and I can sympathize! buy the apush sparknotes book it helps so much.

Does your teacher hand out study guides or homework relevant to the notes? If not, then I would recommend just going over the notes that you took in the class. It may also be beneficial to skim the chapters before your teacher elaborates on them. If you have additional time, I suggest that you read all of the highlighted terms/sections incorporated throughout the chapters. I don’t think that it’s necessary to read all of them completely though.

Thanks Wartsandall, I think I’ll just try to find information about the important terms the teacher gave me.

I’m taking APUSH as well, I would suggest you:

 1. Have a study partner so reading isn’t so boring.
 2. Buy a review book (i.e Princeton Review)
 3. Look online for AP notes
 4. Start reading as soon as you get home (with no distractions)

Use AMSCO.

Use Princeton Review.

Also go to the website and "register’ your book. Often those websites have lesson outlines and quizzes.

APUSH is nothing compared to AP Physics…

AMSCO! Princeton is really bad i heard.

AMSCO is still textbook length. AP US History Crash Course ftw.
