Summarize cause and effect of the Dixiecrats. Who was their leader?

They wanted to continue segregation and were against civil rights and all that. STrom Thurmond was their leader.

Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were scientists (?) that were convicted of passing along military secrets and such to the USSR during the Red Scare.

I think. :)

Two not one? Huh? Did I miss something?

Julius & Ethel Rosenburg--
Allegedly leaked atomic bomb data to the Soviets. Executed, 1953.

Yikes, we have 6 questions on the table. I'm not really sure I'd give a good answer though, anyone else wanna try?

1) What is "Perfectionism"?
2) What were the main cities of the Harlem Renaissance?
3) What was Nixon's integration?
4) What is significance of David Reisman's The Lonely Crowd?
5) Who was Al Smith?
6) Compare and contrast the AFL and the Knights of Labor.

1 more :)

What were FDR's 4 freedoms in his State of the Union Address in Jan 1941?

Nah..they all look too hard
The AFL wanted skilled workers only...the Knights of Labor um...they were the first to have all workers in their union in a certain field regardless of their trade...not sure what that has to do with the AFL though. ?

Perfectionism
[/quote]

i looked this one up:

"The Oneida Community in New York state was founded in 1848 by John Humphrey Noyes. Noyes advanced his social theory and philosophy which he termed "Perfectionism." Critics of the ideology would refer to the Perfectionists as "Noyesians."

This was Christian sect with socialist overtones. Noyes challenged accepted notions of a family structure. Subscribers to the Perfectionist paradigm were each to be married to every other member of the opposite sex. Housing, work and finances were also communally operated and shared.

Western New York state has been host to several attempts at Utopian design, including, Henry David Thoreaus Walden the Lilly Dale spiritualist assembly."

deus...your user name makes me think of my English teacher who always yells at us about epic devices and how deus ex machina had to do with like in old days at the end of a play they'd have a guy sweep down on this rope/machine thing to save the day and end the conflict..and...well...yea that's all

Al Smith was also the first Catholic to run for president in a major political party as well.

Francis Perkins was the first lady under FDR to be appointed as head of Dept of Labor--first woman in US Presidential Cabinet. Our teacher drilled this fact into our heads for some reason.

write the author and general description of these books/writings:

the feminine mystique

the grapes of wrath
