I am considering doing IB but keep hearing you cannot carry on with any extra-curricular activities because of the work load. Is that true? I play soccer.

I play varsity baseball at an extremely competitive level, practicing for 2+ hours every day and am in the IB Diploma program and will take 4 HL subjects next year. It’s possible.

One thing IB will teach you is how to manage your time. My D had an EC that took 8-10 hours a week, and I won’t lie, it was challenging at times. But she’s really glad now that she did IB, it is fantastic preparation for college work.

Agree that TOK is an advantage for IB. The other real advantage is for IB DC candidates. Schools really look favorably on a kid who committed to and achieved the diploma.
