AP World History 2014

Hey everyone! I'm just creating this as a forum for asking questions, for general info and also for our perpetual grumbling and moaning about WHAP :P

The struggle is real

It’s not that hard. I have an A-.

It’s actually pretty easy if you do your work, but it takes FOREVER to read. Omigosh. What book are you guys reading? We started out with “World Civilizations: The Global Experience”, but then the school that they thought it would be a good idea to invest in 2,000 paperback copies of “Ways of the World: A Brief Global History.” Oh, how I love my school.

No reason to demean me Anime,
I have a 100
I was just saying it’s tediou
And was trying to make a nice joke

I use “Traditions & Encounters: A Global Perspective on the Past 3rd Edition”

We use “The Earth and Its Peoples” . Terrifyingly small font…

Also, I wasn’t trying to demean you Atlantic, whatever that means. I was just replying to the OP…

Forever waiting for my teacher to publish the FRQ grades. First world problems

I use the same as animefan! Have you gotten up to chapter 23 yet? I’m actually supposed to be outlining it right now but it’s 30 pages of chaos.

For those of you who don’t use TE3, what unit are you up to?

We just finished Chapter 13…

I am solely reading the Barron’s book because my teacher makes his tests based off Wiki. -_- His pass rate is 15% HELP ME! :,O

I’m sorry Anime…I’ve been having the week from hell :P

I’m using the Earth and it’s peoples as the textbook (but it’s the newer one, so it actually looks appealing) the two column ones look like a nightmare to read.

Then a Princeton Review Book for study.

The Princeton Review is a lot shorter, and much more useful.

Warning: DO NOT use “5 Steps to a 5”. It’s too simplistic and doesn’t fit in with the true breadth of the subject. The practice questions and tests are much too easy compared to the reality…

Atlantic - It’s ok.

Also, I’m using Barron’s and I’m borrowing the Princeton Review from the library.

@txhsteen - I’m using 5 Steps right now as a complement to my class, and I think it’s fine. If I solely depended on it to pass unit tests, the material probably wouldn’t be enough, but I feel like it covers the general idea and important details pretty well. I’m guessing it would be enough for me to score at least a 4 on the actual AP exam; the practice exams (that my teacher provided, not the ones in the book) I took had pretty general questions, unlike the specific questions I have to know for tests in school.

We use Traditions and Encounters: 4th Edition. My teacher gets her test questions from Barron’s 2012.
