***AP World History Thread 2015-2016***

Anyone else actually count out answers for form O? Again I got 7 As, 25 Bs, 18 Cs, and 20 Ds.

Would talking about slave trade be a little out of the time period for the CCOT…? I said that for one of my differences (change in items traded lmao I had no idea what to put down).

Thanks so much!

err i mean slaves have been around since i think from foundations (egypt) so not really,

@Shreyas0718 eks sorry slaves had nothing to do with the economy of postclassical trade networks

for the dbq, is it okay if we used 2 groups at first, then took one of those two groups and split it into two extra groups? I split the documents between those against women gaining rights and wanted the relationship to remain negative, those for gaining rights and wanted a positive relationship, then split those gaining rights into those who wanted citizen and economic rights and those who wanted revolutionary and war rights

I’m not sure but isn’t splitting the DBQ between those that want rights and those that don’t a bad idea? I grouped mine by 1. National Interest, 2. Social Revolutions, and 3. Intellectual Involvement.

i mean if i did it i get the point right? regardless of how good the groupings are? i explained why

I studied so hard and I was banking on a really specific multiple choice test to express my knowledge… :frowning: Now I am so stressed for a low curve :frowning: I spent 40 hours studying for the AP test and chose not to cheat in class (unlike 90% of my grade) and now it’s going to kick me out of my ranking… Hopefully, if I get a 5, I can feel a bit better and not think all that studying went to waste ;-;

Would someone be able to message me and maybe see if my groupings for the essays are alright? It would help me so much. Thank you

Yo guys. How hard do you think the curve will be this year ?

The multiple choice was pretty easy, I expect 62-67 on it. DBQ was also easy in a way with the only difficult thing being the groupings. I expect 7-9. CCOT was also relatively easy if you understood trade routes. I expect 7-8 . Comp and contrast I definitely screwed up on. I understood the TOPIC REALLY WELL. But then I didn’t catch a single word on the prompt which changes the essay. I definitely discussed the prompt but didn’t directly state it in my thesis and the prompt wasn’t the main focus of my Comp and contrast. I’m thinking I got a three in the best case if the graders don’t read my essay throughly and instead only pay attention to the Massive amount of detail I provided for the essay that isn’t actually part of the main prompt.

Can someone tell me what score I should expect. I looked at my Princeton Review’s calculator for scores and I calculate that under the best case scenario I can get a 5. But the curve would change all that. I definitely got at least three questions wrong on the MC as well. Also I have an A in AP World History and got a five on the 2011 practice test that was administered by my teacher.

P.S: Is there a specific day that the scores would be out by any chance ?

@ZeroxShinobi You’ll probably get a 5, since your MC, DBQ, and CCOT are all high. The CC won’t make you drop super low or anything. You mentioning the prompt really made me worried though; I didn’t read it super thoroughly. :open_mouth: Uh oh. Guess we’ll see!

Like I said,

The DBQ was pretty OK, my groupings were: the relationship was ill suited, as in neither benefits the other, gender equality uses politics to achieve its aims, politics uses women’s movements to achieve their own aims, and they both help each other out in times of conflict.

Do these work?

I feel like I bombed both the ccot and comp essay because of not reading prompts carefully enough … :frowning:

@alexanderhamilton Does the waiver that we signed during the AP exam about discussing the actual exam have any weight here. How do the mods regulate it as well ? I would talk about specifics to you but just don’t want to get punished. Also, do you know when we can access our scores.

@Failedit12309876 I think you are more likely to have misread the Comp rather than the CCOT. I read somewhere that while the Comp is usually the easier essay, fatigue by the end of the test results in making careless mistakes and misreading the prompt due to time constraints. What’s sad for me is that there is a high chance that I misread the prompt, and therefore might have gotten a low score, even though I had nearly an HOUR to finish it. I finished the Comp with 30 minutes left and my own ego/cockiness lead me to not recheck the prompt of the comp. I heard about the careless error that I made from a couple of friends of mine and heard that some of them had made the same mistakes as well. Dear God I hope the curve isn’t that harsh. A part of me wishes that the College Board made the MC slightly harder to compensate for the the overall easy nature of the test, which I took for granted by the near end of the test.

It also seems that the members of this thread are not showing consistency with their groupings. I wonder how the college board will grade the groupings portion for this DBQ since the groupings seem to be inconsistent with each other.

@ZeroxShinobi Not really sure about the waiver thing, but I do know when we can see scores. July is what I’ve heard, but not a specific date so far.

I think the main thing I screwed up was that for the CC, I went for a contrasting aspect and it sort of ended up being a similarity between the two things I had, but at that point the test was over so I couldn’t rewrite the entire thing. I’m just hopin’ for a 4 at this point. Not sure if it’ll matter anyways 'cause I wanna major in history and I’m pretty sure you can’t get the college credit in a class you want to major in.

@GeometryForLife I put that the spread of new ideas was a continuity, and was even present before 600 CE during the Silk Road. As changes, I put the introduction of the Indian Ocean trade, benefiting trading centers economically, new maritime and printing technology, also increasing economic gains, and the closing off trade of the Ming dynasty negatively impacted Chinese economy.

Anyone have any input on my choices?

For the groupings, is it okay if my 3 groups were:

1.Mexican documents (5 docs)
2.Nicaraguan documents (there were 2)
3.Other Latin American countries (3 docs… Argentina, Chile, and Cuba I believe?)

I was unsure of my “other Latin american countries” group… hopefully i don’t lose too many points on the DBQ
