The schoalrship is from the local government which covers roughly a quarter of the tuition and im supposed to have a 3.00 Gpa to get it renewed each semester. The problem is im going to be just short in all likelyhood. Expecting it to be at 2.97 =/. What are my chances with an appeal if the the only argument is hs/college transition. Should I wait and appeal after the spring semester and really work on my GPA (~3.5)?

It is PROBABLY a cumulative GPA and probably reviewed after a year; therefore if you are on track for spring you'd be fine, but take time now to determine the exact parameters, so you know what you need to do.

I agree with somemom.
If you miss their parameters, the odds are that they won't renew your scholarship. I know students who have lost scholarships for similar reasons, however usually such decisions are made based on one's gpa every year, not gpas for every semester.
