Hello!
In early February, I was invited to interview for the Regents’ and Chancellors’ Scholarship at UC Berkeley. I interviewed but received news last Thursday that I didn’t receive it. As UC Berkeley is one of my top choices, I’m drafting an appeal letter to the financial aid office, but was wondering if anyone has experience with appealing a Regents decision, or knows anyone who has?
No, never heard of an appeal for that. Since it is a subjective award with limited availability I don’t see how there would be any basis for an appeal.
Having worked at a UC, I have never heard of someone appealing but it doesn’t hurt to try. If possible, you might want to contact a faculty member in the department in which you wish to study to see if they would be willing to support your appeal based on the desire of the department to have you as a student.
