Hi.

I am an international gap year student who’ll be requiring fee waivers from universities. Does anyone over here know whether or not universities accept fee waiver requests from INTERNATIONAL GAP YEAR students?

Someone who’s experienced such a situation, please reply to my query ASAP.

Thanks!

I’m not certain about being an international student, but the fact that you will take a gap year should have no effect on your ability to obtain a fee waiver. You simply apply and defer upon admission. I recommend sending an e-mail to Brown Admissions (the contact information is on their web page); it’s a nice way to demonstrate interest in the university.

The thing is that I am in the process of taking a gap year. I’ll be applying to colleges, including Brown, during the course of the gap year.

Your gap year still doesn’t matter. You’re applying as a freshman, not a transfer. You’ll need to contact universities separately to determine whether they’ll give you a fee waiver.
