The link doesn't work. Make sure you copy and paste the full link (the ... indicates that some part of the address was cut off. Anyway here's the link: http://www.brown.edu/Administration/Admission/applyingtobrown/theapplicationprocess.html

haha I guess college confidential automatically screws up long links

Check the BBcode carefully and then curse the short editing time, I guess.

this thing is terrifying.

should be fun =X

uhh, does anyone else find themselves faced with like...8950645907 essays? PLME + Science statement + normal essay = like...3 long and 4 short ones

o.o

writing your essays should be fun

Looked at the app and, gotta say, I'm a little disappointed. I wasn't expected too much initially--just a normal app, probably something like last year's--but all this hype really got me pumped, and what do I get? Nothing earth shattering. Nice job artificially inflating my paperwork expectations, CC.

;)

Lol I agree. I'm actually a little afraid at the tiny-seeming nature of the application. Like I won't be able to fully express myself. Guess that's the beauty of college apps...Haha.

WAIT, BUT I DON'T SEE THE APPLICATION. WHERE??? The website says

Brown is currently not accepting applications for freshmen.
The application form is being reviewed for the 2007-2008 academic year. Please check back in late July.

I have a question: it says that we have to print the app out and fill it in by hand and that we can't type onto the PDF.

Is that what everyone's doing? Writing it in by hand and glueing in the essays?

Is there a program I can buy/download that'll let me type in my info on the Brown app?

anybody here?

I DON'T SEE APP. It says we currently do not accept...blahblah

what the???

maybe your computer is just reading an old cookie...that's happened to me once before. Try clicking refresh. Tell me if that helps.

NO it doesn't OMG I'm freaking out
I tried different computer but still can't see APP. ARRH WHAT IS THIS???
WOE IS ME or is it..

Whoa, whoa, whoa, calm down. Seriously, you're thinking about premed and you get this freaked out by not seeing the application the second it goes online. You'll explode in college.

okay, okay;D I'm just little upset because I had this trouble before and was not able to do see anything right before my translation deadline. They updated the new translation rule and I didn't get paid because I didn't see it. Your point is taken though.

edit] I went to the pub library and can see the application. Weird, I still can't from my two comp.

there's going to be an on-line version, right? is it just not up yet?

billy,
I haven't had a close look at it but I don't see why something which edits PDFs directly--for example, Adobe Acrobat (not reader)--wouldn't be able to type them in. A lot of things fit that niche, though the free ones are decidedly sketchy. Then there's always the "free" ones if you know what I mean, that would be worth investigating. I'll see that they're editable--and they ought to be, all laws of physics holding true--with the normal Adobe family of products and get back to us all.

When I applied two years ago, you could do the entire application online by filling out forms directly in the webpage (not through editing a PDF -- that technology is too new and most people don't have the latest version of Acrobat on their home computers yet). I'm sure they'll have it available to do this year, too.
