this isn't really helping your competitors...

Are international transfers eligible for "Early Consideration" too?

it's the 6th and it's not up. ugh...so authentic, you lie.

lol jk. I understand it wont be up 4 minutes into the day.

in my experience, columbia students are happy to help their classmates, despite them theoretically also being their "competitors".

in fact, that is one of the attributes that set it apart from the peer schools I visited, and a big factor in why I came here. There are plenty of times to be cutthroat, being an information nazi isn't one of them.

It's up now meaning I just won myself $5.

Yeah, Thanks to karen
goood job informing

How does application work?

I mean you fill the application online. but then do you enter the information online or do you have a time limit to send all the proof of EC, SAT scores, letter, etc....

I'm very new to the process coming from a Canadian system where everything was automatically transfered.

When I preview my application in pdf format, some of the options i selected online aren't checked in the pdf form- namely the early decision choice and a possible career after schooling. I clearly made my choices in the online form, and so should I submit, despite the discrepancy?

undisclosed, there are basic parts of the application you fill out, i.e your name, address email, interest in columbia, major. But things like your high school transcript, reccomendations, financial aid will be mailed by you

Do they give you guidelines regarding the decisions? Dates, procedure, limits, etc...

Otherwise they may make their decision before your information is sent.

Denzera, I completely agree with you. I visited several of Columbia's peer schools and Columbia students were noticeably more open and warm. Students at other schools just seemed to take themselves and what they were doing way too seriously. Columbia students seemed a lot more relaxed and just plain honest about what they were up to- other schools seemed to either be too intense or the students were making a forced effort to appear laid-back when it wasn't that way at all.

Undisclosed, they will notify you if there are key parts of your application missing; however, you don't want to let it get to this point. The information about the different parts is on the website and it's also sent to you when you begin the application process. You will have a place to log in where you can see the different components and check the status of each. Everything should be very clear once you actually begin the process. I remember having a paper copy of the application printed out (the application is in PDF format somewhere, I think) and all of the information needed and that helped as well. You should print out everything so you can examine it more thoroughly and are less likely to make mistakes.
