Application Process

It says on my TPortal that my part of the application is done, and the committee is reviewing my short answers…
however it’s taking them so long to review my essays! I submitted about a month ago and it’s still saying that they are reviewing my short answers. I called to ask if there was a mistake on my portal and the administration office said that it wasn’t a mistake and they do not know how long it will take to review my answers…

Another Question
After they do finish reviewing my short answers, will I get a notification of if I get accepted or not?
or
Are they going to look over my full application after that.
I’m so confused on how the system works with Temple University.

Please let me know!

I think it’s taking them closer to 6-8 weeks to review applications. My daughter applied in December before the rush of applications. She just heard yesterday which is 7 weeks to the day to hear back. Even with the holiday break it took longer to hear back than her friends who applied in Oct or Nov.

I know it’s hard but try to be patient.

@blackbelt97 - My daughter applied in October. Temple didn’t read her essays until the end of December. The portal will say that you are in review. Review will be another 4-8 weeks. She is approaching 7 weeks, and still no decision. Hang in there, it will take a while!

@blackbelt97 and @jobocro - do not be afraid to contact the admissions office and ask for an update. Email is always good. There is a list of freshman admissions counselors here: http://admissions.temple.edu/node/221 and you can call as well. When my DD1 was applying, we waited forever. Finally, she sent an email reiterating her interest in Temple and asking if she could provide any additional information. She was accepted 2 weeks later. Temple is trying to process more applications than ever this year. Stand out as the squeaky wheel.

blackbelt ,do you have your new SAT yet?

@ctl987 no I couldn’t take it due to the snow storm. The make up test is next week!

Mine says the same thing. If you still haven’t heard back I would e-mail them.
