Application Question about Athletics

On the Harvard supplement it asks about college extracurricular choices. If you choose a sport, it asks you to choose either 'Intramural/Club' or 'Intercollegiate'.

If I get in, I might try to walk-on. Should I choose 'Intercollegiate', or does Harvard expect only recruited athletes to choose this?

I have this question too.

Intercollegiate means varsity. I would not choose that option.

Umm...I'm going to try to walk on a team if I get in and I submitted my application today with intercollegiate checked. I think the point of that section was to see what you will give to campus life and I plan to play a sport so I made that clear. Just my opinion. You need to do what you think is best.

What's wrong with varsity athletics? How much more intense can college sports be than in high school?

Well, if he does walk-on, he'd be on the varsity team. So why shouldn't he choose it?

N.S: IMO you should choose "Intercollegiate".
