So I submitted my undergraduate application for msu on September 22nd, and my application status was recently updated to this message a few days ago:
“Application Status
Thank you for your patience and continued interest in Michigan State University. An initial review of your application indicates you are a competitive applicant to MSU. Due to an increase in the quantity and quality of freshman applications, the Office of Admissions requires additional time to thoroughly review all applicants before making a final decision.
Admissions decisions will be released on a rolling basis, beginning in mid-October 2016. You will receive a decision on the status of your application on or before March 17, 2017.
No additional documents are required. The most up-to-date information will be posted to your account as soon as it becomes available. Students will be notified by email when a change occurs on your account.”
I am wondering whether or not this is a deferral, and would like to know what a deferral would look like. I know my academics are competitive enough for the school like the message says, so I’m wondering if this is a message that other competitive applicants are seeing as well.
Additionally I am also wondering if other people have been prompted to do the student background and experiences inventory. I’ve kinda searched to see what it is and the website says that it is a required inventory for admitted students, but I haven’t been accepted yet, so I’m wondering what that is about.
Thanks
