Thanks for the help, all! The Common Application is coming out soon, and I hope I can live up to your helpful praise.

@rainy: Yes, I used to be good friends with Mr. Chu. I think we took the same summer math course in 5th grade and were ARML teammates many years later. I still have school here in Taiwan, and if that's the case in America, give him my greetings!

I really love music. I played piano for 13 years and have played the tuba, clarinet, trumpet, and viola (8 years). However, I don't have any national awards in music. So here's my question:

Is it better to write about an activity you have a lot of passion for but have only minor awards in , or about something that you like and have major awards in?

By the way, this accounts for the fact that I left out a lot of my passions in my resume above.

kishpish, I'm sorry if this thread comes off to you as a show-off gesture. I'm actually a somewhat nervous and apprehensive guy. I've been worrying about college admissions since junior year, and here I am, still worrying.

Thanks jenkster! I'm glad there's a math community embedded in CC.

By the way, did anyone take a look at the IMO problems?

Wow, you're really cool! I just have one question for you--how did you find the TIME to do all of this?
(By the way, have you taken differential equations yet?)
Just wondering; I've taken the AIME and AMC and stuff, but never made it to USAMO yet. ;)

-College Courses: Linear Algebra, Advanced Calculus, Number Theory, Graph Theory, Modern Algebra (will be taking this senior year: 1st year grad course)

Lily Puppy it would be kind of hard to take 1st year grad math courses without differential equations...

Oh My God!!
I don't know what to say.....
I can't believe someone like me from Taiwan can be that good!
I am pround of you!! you are awesome!! =]
