I haven't been on CC for a while, but now that early applications are finished, I have the time to peruse a few threads.

@Sheed: You're right that I'm weak in the analysis area. I've never taken differential equations, and I'm not that good with them either. Modern Algebra is more abstract; it requires no background at all except for linear algebra, but it is more manipulative and intuitive.

@Keshira: Debate is something that requires a lot of logic and reasoning similar to that used in mathematics. Eloquence is certainly part of it, but I think what makes the biggest difference in a debate is how prepared you are and how familiar you are with your lines of reasoning.

Thanks for the comments, but I don't like to think of myself as "better" than anyone else. Everyone is good at something; I admire people who love drawing, literature, or even poker. I think that everyone here who loves what they do has a competitive chance at their dream school.

That being said, does anyone know when early application results come out?

everything should come out before Dec. 15th-MIT and Caltech are often a little earlier. But I wouldn't be surprised if they send you ur acceptance like this weekend or something LOL.

Yeah, this dude seriously needs to tell us where he got accepted ED. This guy can't be human. ~paranoia~ Never trust math geniuses; they are robots in disguise ~paranoia~ lol just kidding man!

Compare the financial aid packages (if you received any, I dunno if you got any because you're living in Taiwan but you're still a US citizen) that each school gave you.

Visit the schools, including Harvard. Do you feel really at home in any one of them in particular? Don't "go for the waitlist" just because of Harvard's name; remember that you'll be spending the next 4 years of your life in and around one of these institutions, so make sure you're comfortable there.

Congratulations on all of your acceptances. I know you will make the best choice as to where you will go.

i have found however that someone has a higher chance of getting in to those Ivies with something really out there..like scuba diving or modeling..

so..maybe you should write your essays on something really unique.

I really hope that there's only like 9-10 more people in the world that are as incredible as this guy.... Otherwise i'm screwed. ;

Anyways, yeah, don't worry at all. You have perfect SAT's, USAMO, National Sports and Debate Championships, MUN National Championships, and perfect grades.. You don't need to worry.
