Hello folks!
I am a 29-year old international applicant, with a Master of Laws obtained in a European university. I have worked for the past 3 years as online data protection and information transparency professional at the EU level and still operate on the field as we speak.
I have recently applied to the 2020/2021 Fellowship term at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society, with proposed research on digital political advertising. My application was rejected and no feedback was provided despite my express (and kind) request.
Without going too much into details, I’d kindly ask anyone who wants to share their own experience with the same application (now or in the past) to help understand how the selection process works, and hopefully exchange some insights for future applications.
My application was strongly supported by my employer (a board of cross-industry digital advertising trade associations) and was thoroughly prepared ahead of submission, with several months of back-up research. It’s a bit unhelpful and perhaps not fully transparent to receive a blunt rejection without even an in-substance explanation.
Thanks for helping out!
