apply ED or not

im not sure whether i definitely want to go to WashU. ive heard only great things about it, but ive never actually had the chance to visit it (i live near DC) and my parents said they would only take me to see it if i got in. i dont want to end up going to a school i hate just because i was bound by an application. from what ive seen, there is no non-binding early application, right? how do i make this decision?

It sounds like you have already made a decision. Your concerns outweigh the advantages of applying ED.

Only ED a school if you are:

[ol]
[]Very sure(close to 100%) that you want to attend the school you are EDing
[]Willing to pay the full tuition for the school.
[/ol]

If you have any reservations, do not ED. And do visit the school before EDing to know what you are getting yourself into. Nothing compares to a first-hand experience on campus.

I applied ED to WashU in the falla nd it was the best decision I ever made. If you, try to make it out to Discovery Weekend on a travel grant. There are tons of them, almost 300 grants in total so you won’t have to worry about paying to get there. Once you are on campus it is impossible not to fall in love with the atmosphere (welcoming), the students (helpful and happy) and the campus (beautiful). WashU is an AMAZING place, and we have money. So its not likley you’ll have to pay full tuition. If it turns out of you don’t feel you can afford WashU, then you are let out of the ED agreement. I know, because I had similar problems. I would encourage you to visit before applying ED, because if you do you probably won’t want to apply anywhere else! Come to WashU!
