So, here's the deal:
I'm an international student (junior) at an Ivy college in the US. I've been suspended and readmitted recently, and now I may be expelled altogether (disciplinary reasons). I'd definitely consider dropping school and applying as a freshman at a UK university. However, the BIG dilemma I have is: if I omit the fact that I've studied in an US college for three years now and apply for this other university, WILL THEY FIND OUT???

My rationale is that, since I have mediocre grades (3.3GPA), a history of suspension and might even be expelled soon, NO respectable uni will take me.
On the other hand, if admission officers find out that I've hidden my educational record, again, NO respectable uni will take me.

See my dilemma?
Advice badly needed. Post pls

Thanks!!!

Come on people, help please. I’m in a big dilemma.

Here in the US, you are required to sign your application to state that you have filled it out truthfully. Assuming the UK applications have the same requirement and they ask about other colleges and your academic record & transcripts from them, you are obligated to tell the truth.

Stop screwing up… if you need to go to a lower ranked uni to get your degree, then do that. Don’t lie.

Also, bumping after 6 minutes is ridiculous…

That would be an insanely bold risk to take. First of all you would probably have to come up with a story for how you spent three years of your life. Not to mention they will likely find out. If I were you, I would not take that risk. Try your best and hope for more.

How could they find out, thought? If you could make up a convincing story?

Honestly, the only dilemma I see here is your inability to change your behavior. The same reasoning you are using to contemplate escaping your situation is probably the same that got you suspended, and now, possibly expelled.

To answer your question, they will find out. I’m sure they do background checks. And on the US common app, you include your social security number. So I’d expect that UK universities do something similar.

Bottom line: Stop trying to lie your way out of a situation that your mistakes got you into. A bad decision to cover up past bad decisions will just blow up in your face. Learn from your mistakes, be mature, and own up to your past record. That way, you could at least have a chance at other colleges. If you lie about something this serious, there will be no chance to recover.
