Applying as a junior Hotchkiss/Choate/Deerfield

Hi I’m a current sophomore girl who lives in the uk at a London day private school.
I am currently applying to Hotchkiss Choate and Deerfield as a junior for September 2015 and have sent in all my applications.
My interviews all went really well and I got an 86% SSAT average score and I am a straight A student with a ton of extracurriculars such as field hockey and MUN

I was wondering if anyone who is familiar with any of these schools or the prep school admissions process who could give me any tips or advice about my chances

Thanks!

Hi,

I don’t do chances, because I think they are an exercise in futility, since neither I, nor anyone else here, is an admissions officer. Thus, none of us has any insight into what a particular school is looking for in any given year.

However, I will tell you that in general, 11th grade is the most competitive grade for admissions, which is in part why many apply as repeat 10th graders. Aside from having fewer spots available, junior year is also considered to be the most challenging year academically. Considering that college applications are just around the corner, there is little room for error if a new junior is unable to hit the ground running. Good luck.
