Applying as engineering major...wondering

So I look back and don't really regret applying as an engineering major for nearly all of my schools, but I was just wondering whether or not it was really worth it in terms of college admissions. A lot of people told me I should have just applied as a non-impacted major, do well my first year, and then try and transfer into the engineering program. I'm not complaining or anything. I'm pretty happy with where I plan to go but I was just wondering, because I had a few dream schools I wanted to go to. Anyone have experience with this?

Water under the bridge. Don’t look back. Have fun where you are planning to go; do well; and you will never care about what could have been at another school.

No regrets. Your dream school is a product of your juvenille self. Do well at whatever you do, wherever you are and you will not regret your decision.

Agreed. I was just reading an article about certain colleges and it made me quite sad, but oh well. Thanks for the advice guys.
