Applying EARLY EARLY to schools?

I've seen some others have ALREADY submitted their applications (supplements and everything) to schools like Stanford, Northwestern... but the deadline isn't until November.... is there any benefits as to why someone would do this??

There are no benefits. Technically the adcoms aren’t even allowed to look at their apps until after the stated deadline in order to allow everyone a fair review. I have an SCEA school but I only submitted my supplement (not even the fee or the actual Common App yet).

"Technically the adcoms aren’t even allowed to look at their apps " This surely isn’t a hard and fast rule. Many colleges begin sorting and scanning docs immediately. Work is already underway.

I had 90% of my applications done and submitted before school started in August and had my documents sent by the first week of September. Other than feeling a massive wave of relief and being able to actually enjoy the beginning of your senior year, as well as feeling secure that everything is done and in order, there isn’t a benefit to applying way early in the sense that it gives you an advantage.

Applying to college isn’t done in a vacuum.
HS students still have obligations and responsibilities to athletics, academics, ECs, family, community, whatevers as they complete essays, applications for financial aid, paperwork for applying to multiple schools.
Getting it done early means more time to catch deficiencies and omissions in the applications.
