I am applying ED to UPenn this year. How do you think I stack up?</p>
<p>white female from NJ</p>
<p>ACT composite: 33 (99th%)
English-- 35 (99th%, 10 on essay)
Math-- 32 (97th%)
Reading-- 31 (93rd%)
Science-- 32 (98th%)</p>
<p>UW GPA: 3.8
W GPA: 4.18</p>
<p>school does not rank, but i estimate top 10% or better
i am from a very competitive school, sends many kids to ivies (mostly to princeton not as many to upenn)</p>
<p>5 AP classes this year
3 APs last year+accel spanish
1 AP soph year+accel spanish (all that was offered sophomore year)
accel spanish and bio freshman year</p>
<p>got a 4 on all 4 AP tests that I have taken so far</p>
<p>extracurric:
-over 210 hours volunteering at hospital+ leader of hospital volunteer group at my school
-over 250 hours as an emergency medical technician+ leader of EMT cadet (under 18) group in my town
-have been a member of 3 select singing groups in my school since soph year
(co-president of my a cappella group)
-secretary-treasurer of model UN at my school (largest club in the school)
-member of select teen group that is trained in leadership skills and teaching other teens in the area about sexuality issues such as homophobia, HIV/AIDS, and sexual abuse
-varsity lacrosse player since freshman year</p>
<p>Jobs/summer experiences:
-paid blogger for a teen travel blog
-lifeguard for the past two summers
-payed model and product rep for a tiedye company and have done other jobs in that field
-went to NJ Governors School on the Environment last summer
-went on a Greek heritage (i am greek) trip sponsored by the greek government two summers ago
-went on tour to various places around the world with the choirs i am involved in </p>
<p>--- my teachers who are writing my recommendations are known in the school as the "power couple" bc they both write strong reccs </p>
<p>--- I do well in interviews if I am going to be interviewed
---I plan to send in an arts supp of me singing (i also play the ukulele)</p>
<p>---I am looking to go into the health field... at UPenn the major of "health and societies" in the school of arts and sciences sparks my interest</p>
