Hey! I’m a rising senior and I have a few questions for those that applied last year:
-When did the HU application open?
-How long did it take to get info about scholarships after you were notified that you were accepted?
I’m shooting for the Founders Scholarship, for which I just barely meet the criteria. My stats are 3.5UW/3.84W GPA, 32 ACT and some of my extracurriculars are content editor of yearbook, assistant manager of school bookstore, NHS, & SGA. What do y’all think my chances are?
My D applied in late fall and received scholarship just before Christmas, I believe. When she applied, scholarships were automatic with certain stats. Now I believe they are competitive. If you can get the ACT score up even a point it will help, but I think as you stand you will be competitive. Also, see if they super score the ACT. My recollection is that they use to. Good Luck! With your stats you should have solid options!
Hey. I’m currently a freshman at HU. I applied early action (before the November 1 deadline). Got accepted Dec 16 and Got my scholarship Dec 23. Your stats look great but do retake the ACT if you can. Goodluck!
I don’t remember the exact dates but my DD applied by the early deadline (sent at very last minute; I believe it was due Nov 1) and she heard back before Christmas. She was notified about the scholarship about a week later.
You really don’t need to retake anything, Howard is a safety for you. However I would look at the conditions of said scholarship. I would consider some scholarships to be boarding on scams as they require high gpa requirements to keep them, so please look into this.
Also unless Howard is your first choice, have reaches, matches, and safeties.
