I’m currently in a private high school, and I’m thinking about applying for some colleges in the UK.
I mainly want to do this as I am interested in studying in a different country, and hopefully I will manage to gain some experience for learning the different types of cultures in England.
Yes, it can be a great experience if you are flexible and can live with things (food, classes, accents, living conditions) significantly different from what u are used to.
Very different structure as well. Do you know what you want to study yet, for instance? There’s little (Scotland) or no (England) changing of your mind once you choose a subject (which you have to when you apply), for instance.
And why not just study abroad for a year or two?
BTW, there is a UK subforum in the “International Students” forum. A wealth of information there.
My friend studies in the UK and she has had a hard time adjusting. She said that the environment is much harsher. She has also had to adjust to it being dark most of the time in Scotland and really hates that as well. I forget all the issues she’s had but there’s been a lot. She doesn’t hate it, but she has had a hard time getting to a good place.
