<p>Hi I am currently a high school senior or will be starting in late August but I need some information on if I should apply to Tulane SCEA or just early action. If I applied to Tulane information on if I should apply to Tulane SCEA or just early action. If I applied to Tulane just plain early action (nonrestrictive) I would most likely apply to University of Miami EA as well. Tulane basically is my first choice, while I have never visited the campus I have gone to New Oreleans many times before and after Katrina. Here are some of my stats I live in Texas, and I am an African American female with a 3.5 gpa and while it is low I attended a rigourous private school up until the middle of my junior year when I left attended a rigourous private school up until the middle of my junior year when I left because of lack of significant financial aid. I am in several clubs as a high ranking officer. I also have over 400 community service hours and over 200 school service hours , I plan to have at least 500 by the time 8 apply. ACT score: 30. But I will retake it in september. I am also applying to BU, Rice, Temple, UT austin (Plan II even though I think I have a slim chance I have talked to the director and she thinks I have a good chance. <p>Perhaps the reasons there were no responses was the fact that there were some sentence typos so it was a bit hard to understand. I am willing to try though (:</p>
<p>Because of your GPA, I think you should apply Early Action (nonrestrictive) to Tulane. Just so there is room if there needs to be a quick adjustment of thinking. Also, this will give you time to see the campus and compare it to the other schools you are applying to. All of the schools you are looking at are great schools!</p>
<p>Tulane has become hot in the past few years, which means they’re increasingly selective. Because you need $$ and they are known for offering attractive financial assistance, merit and need-based, you should strongly consider SCEA if, in fact, Tulane’s your first choice!</p>
<p>I would consider how many other schools you might have to forgo applying Early Action to if you apply SCEA to Tulane. </p>
<p>If the only difference is that you would have to apply RD rather than EA to University of Miami - not so bad. But if you have 3 or 4 or more schools that you consider safety or match schools that you could apply to EA and applying to Tulane SCEA will prevent you from doing so - then I would recommend against it.</p>
<p>I have yet to be convinced that applying SCEA gives an applicant a decent bump in admissions - but it does limit your ability to apply EA to other schools - that is what you have to weigh.</p>
