Applying to 25+ BS’s ?

@metsfan5150 Your list is looking good! Lots of schools I don’t know well enough to comment on so I can’t add a lot of value there. But I did want to say: I could be wrong but I feel like I’ve seen most (maybe all?) of those on SAO. Again, I might be wrong. But just a heads up as you consider the joys of gateway/SAO puzzle – you might be able to do this all on SAO.

@Calliemomofgirls Yes it actually looks like all my schools accept the SAO except for Woodberry Forest and St. James. This weekend I’ll tell my parents that I want to apply again.
Yes I haven’t told them yet. BS hasn’t been talked about in my family since April and at that time after my 2nd round failure they were very pessimistic. Ex: Fa is only for people who need only 10k/5k in assistance not regular middle class people etc. They pretty much think it’s impossible and that I should move on. Anyway that’s what they said/implied in April and I’m very nervous to bring it up with them. Hopefully they’ll be open and agree but honestly I don’t know what to expect.

Does anyone have any advice for me on how to tell my parents. I realize you don’t know the specifics of my situation, but I’m in freak out mode right now even though I’m 3 days away. Even a pep talk would be great!

@metsfan5150 , I am pulling for you.

I don’t know your situation, so it’s hard to give you advice. But if you were my kid and you told me how important this was to you (and why), and asked that I support your effort, as a mom, I’d be all in.

@metsfan5150, you sound like an independent self-starter and if you were my child and were committed enough to apply multiple times and do this much research I would fully support you. Having said that, all families and situations are different. Good luck with your folks!

Okay So I thought I’d give everybody an update on where I stand right now!
I got my parents “on board” and I had my first interview yesterday. It was absolutely amazing! This is at a a school that maybe has been mentioned one or twice ever on this forum. Not just barely mentioned but almost never mentioned. I have a few of those on my school list. I really clicked with my interviewer who was the most genuine person I’ve ever met from the BS world.
This is a rolling admissions school and unfortunately they said that they don’t give out FA packages of over 50% until March when they have the whole applicant pool set in stone. So for me there’s really no point in rushing to get my application in before February 1st which is the priority deadline. Totally understandable and it just underscores how long my chances are but I’m confident that if I make sure that I apply to schools like these where I really have “fit” then I will have at least one option on M10

Oh my god that’s so awesome!! It’s awesome that things worked out. Rooting for you!

Thank you @mondaydevil. I’m rooting for you as well!

Love this!

There are so many schools that get little mention here, and most are wonderful in their own way.

I hope your more nuanced search this year serves you well. <3

@metsfan5150 thanks for the update! I love this news!!!

I had my second and third interviews today and the results were decidedly more mixed than my first interview.
At the second interview the AO stressed that there FA budget was strained to the limit and that competition for FA would be extremely competitive. Other than that it went pretty well but this was certainly disconcerting although I appreciate her honesty. She even suggested for me to look at a school that she believed would have more FA available. She was extremely kind and I will give it a shot at this school but I definitely will try not to become too attached even though I do love them. Keep in mind this is a Hidden Gem. My AO was unbelievably nice in the way she handled everything and said if I ever need to get an impression on another school, than she can give her thoughts. This is obviously not in her job description and I am beyond thankful that she tried to help.
My Third interview was just okay. It was very laid-back and that caught me off-guard. The interviewer only asked one question about what I like to do outside of school and then they went straight to asking me if I had any questions. It wasn’t bad just slightly awkward and it certainly won’t help my application at that school.
