I’ve already been admitted to a college but I took a gap year. However, I thought about my decision and decided to apply to another college. If I do so, would the college I am currently admitted in be aware of my new application to the new school?
If, as a condition of approving your gap year, the college said you cannot apply to another college, assume they will find out. And when they do, assume they will withdraw their offer.

Look on your schools website to see their gap year policy. Some schools don’t allow it others do. But to answer your question, the college you are admitted to will most likely find out.

If you don’t want to attend your original college, than there is no harm in applying. Hopefully it is a safety though so you don’t end up without a school to attend.
But if you get into the new school and you know you will go - so there are no financial concerns, etc. then you have no harm in applying.
