Applying to too many UCs?

@forevertired Utah and NAU are part of a Western Undergraduate Exchange which offers tuition in the UC range to California residents. Check out the schools. You might find one that appeals to you. http://www.wiche.edu/wue

@mom2collegekids and anyone else who wants to answer: do my stats look okay? Obv I didn’t include much and personal statements matter a lot, but are my stats fine?

@10s4life thank you!! When you applied, how many other colleges besides the 5 UCs did you apply to? I don’t want to regret applying to these if I’m wasting money but CC has taught me that these schools reject so many qualified people and I really have no clue where I’ll get in hmmm

premed or pre-dentistry. Is UCR known for that? Thanks for letting me know

If I had a premed/predental child with your stats living in Calif, then I would steer him towards UCR because:

  1. the upper-tier UCs will be extra-loaded with high stats PreHealth majors, and you’d likely get weeded or get a GPA that isn’t that great.

2). UCR has a new med school. I think it’s somehow tied to UCLA’s med school, which is why I mentioned the assured spots. I’ll try to get more info.

3). Many “better stats” premeds still won’t go to UCR, so you could be positioning yourself to be a top student there and shine.

4). Calif has too many premeds, so you’ll want to give yourself the best situation.

  1. Personally, I would also consider Merced because it’s small and like a private univ
