Applying "underage"

Hey everyone,

I'm thinking of perhaps applying to colleges in my junior itself, as my hs will likely run out of resources and I can't take classes at local University unless I graduate high school and enroll there. Although I may may have enough credits to graduate, I don't want to go enroll there and have to apply to other colleges as a transfer student.

I am a canadian student, international, primarily interested in American colleges. My parents said they would not be opposed to paying full tuition as long as I do well and it is a good school.

Does anyone have any experience with this process and how it works/tips/advice?

Thanks for the links! I should’ve searched more-I ran a search on google and it redirected me to a few CC threads.

Does anyone have insight about how this goes? I really dislike my HS and I will likely run out of classes in STEM which I am very much into.

There are very few colleges and universities in the US that require a high school diploma. Almost all of them will admit any student who they determine to be “college ready”. Make a list of places that match your interests, and ask the admissions office at each of them about your specific situation.

There is a sub-forum inside the International Students Forum specifically for Canadian issues, that would be a good place for you to start.
Good luck!

Also look into Bard College at Simon’s Rock:

It’s a college specially designed for high school students who are academically prepared to leave high school after the 10th or 11th grade and start college. Many students spend 1-2 years there and then transfer somewhere else.

I have a sister who did this a million years ago. She went to Oberlin. Oberlin still accepts well qualified juniors.
