Why do you only get 55 minutes to answer 80 mc questions for apush?

That’s all you’ll need if you are really supposed to be taking the course.

That’s twice what you need if you really know the material.

Actually I agree. It’s not like you are solving anything.

What was Seneca Falls?

a.) A Civil War meeting
b.) A technological fair for geeks
c.) Female rights
d.) Harvard was founded
e.) None of the above.

It only takes 5 seconds to even know that it was c.

Yeah, all of the questions are straightforward. You either know it or you don’t.

The same goes for European History (and probably World). Most of the questions are straightforward; even the analysis questions don’t require much time. AP Euro MC was probably the only section of the 4 AP exams I took for which I actually finished early. 55 minutes is plenty.

55 minutes is plenty of time to zip through the multiple choices. They’re all “you either know it or you don’t questions”; you need to have the ability to see what the question’s asking you within a few seconds and answer it as fast as you can.

I got through my APUSH multiple choice pretty fast with 20 minutes or so to spare, and used that 20 minutes to go back and check the multiple choice over. =)

They want to make sure you really know the answers and aren’t guessing.
