Apush!!!!!

Tommorows my first apush test and is said to be the hardest test of the year. Getting a 70% or above is almost unheard of on the first test. I dunno how i should study for it now, its my first humanities Ap (along with lang and psych). Those who took apush, are reading notes my own and online and taking a plethora of quizzes good, or should i stay up real late and try to read the text book chp2-7? We are using Out of Many a kind of dry textbook.

The first APUSH test at my school screwed everyone's grades over -- even with the curve, many people ended up with a C. Hell, even though I consistently got 95% and above on all the tests after it, I still ended up with a B+ in the class.

Reading notes wasn't enough for me. After the first test, I figured out how to study: I'd go through the chapter taking notes as flash cards. There would be a topic on each flash card, and on the back would be details about it. It averaged out to about 30-40 cards per chapter (each chapter was about 20 pages long), or about 2 cards per page. Also, I would fold lined paper and cut that into 8ths for my cards. The magic of this method is that it forces you to organize the information into smaller groups, pick out the superfluous information, and rephrase the important information into your own words. By doing this, you're learning and memorizing the material. Once you're ready to study for the test, you have flash cards to refresh your memory. I used American Pageant by the way.

This method probably won't help you now -- it took me at least 2 hours to do one chapter -- so just do the things you listed and hope for the best. You might try this method out in the future, though.

thanks for the advice. Hopefully my bs-ing skills will pay of on the test lol. I shoulda prepared earlier lol.

we only get essay test in my APUSH class (the teacher teaches the course like a college class...he's one of the only teachers at my school who can actually teach...../rant).

but i thought most apush / apwh classes only did essay test. My current apush teacher was also my 8th grade geo. teacher, and even then he only gave essay test...never multiple choice.

Yeah this apush test is all multiple choice, but the tests afterward have essays and multipile choice q's.

AP USH is the pits ... I got a 5 last year in it but had to do so much
extra work that I developed a passionate dislike for USH at this point....
despite having a really cool teacher

Well i took the test i am hoping for a 20%. Lol

Well maybe use the textbook web site for practice questions.
