Arabic at Bowdoin?

Hey guys, I’ll be applying to Bowdoin this fall. I really, really love the school, but the absence of Arabic from the curriculum is disappointing. I remember reading an article in what I assume was the school’s newspaper, and it said that there are currently informal Arabic classes being held and that student demand for the class was high. Is there any chance that an Arabic minor may be offered within the near future? Are there any students asking that it be added to the available course?

Thanks in advance.

i remember when on a tour there that they made a point of saying that they are coming out with an Arabic minor very soon.

Under the course guide for the fall and spring, an interdisciplinary category has been added offering elementary & intermediate Arabic:

I’m not sure if that’s what you are looking for, but I have also heard that Bowdoin is considering adding an Arabic minor.

If you want Arabic, look at Middlebury.

Middlebury probably has the best language program in the country.
