Architecture major a bad decision?

<p>Since I was a kid I have always wanted to be an architect. It is something I am really interested in. However I am hesitant to go into a field with such extensive education requirements, especially when the job outlook is grim. </p>

<p>So can anyone speak to whether you can still get a good job & salary nowadays or is it a bad idea? (I live in NY if that helps)</p>

<p>The market is still very competitive, but is has significantly improved. We are seeing more competition for the best students. Things are better at most firms that I talk to. Four or five years from now, when you graduate, would be hard to predict.</p>
