I hear a lot of people saying that they're taking an exam independently because it's not offered at their school. Pretty much all of the classes I'm considering self-studying (stats is at the top of that list--I'll probably self-study that next year) are offered at my school--I just know that I won't have room for them in my schedule, and plus, some people say that a few of the exams (psych, enviro, stats) are easier and that studying by one's own for enough time can be sufficient preparation.

i self studied bio, which is offered at my school, but i figured i might as well take the exam before senior year (i'm taking the class then) because i'm in love with bio and heard it wasn't much harder than the SAT II. plus, i'm going for an AP award.

it was funny cause a bunch of my friends took the class and went through a whole year of ap bio prep and i literally spent one day. well, we'll see how things end up...
