Are Duke Bachelor of Arts degrees still abbreviated "A.B." rather than BA?

I found an old article from 2003 discussing the reasoning behind Duke abbreviating Bachelor of Arts degrees as “A.B.” rather than BA: https://library.duke.edu/rubenstein/uarchives/history/articles/commencement-traditions

However, recent articles are conflicting. A page from the Nicholas School of the Environment still differentiates between “AB and BS degrees” but a Trinity CAS page lists “BA” and “BS” as the possible degrees.

It may appear to be a trivial inquiry, but nevertheless, I am curious. Could any recent Duke graduates help me out here? Thanks!

Yes, that article is accurate and it’s still an AB as far as I know. It could be confusing because it IS a “Bachelor of Arts” (and that it was it says on the diploma so a recent graduate wouldn’t be able to look at that for verification), but is referred to shorthand as an AB, which is the Latin version. That is the degree conferred in the Commencement book. I assume the Trinity page is just abbreviating Bachelor of Arts, but the degree is “officially” an A.B.
