Are honors/AP viewed the same?

OK so I have taken 4 AP classes in total but a TON of honor classes (this year i only have 1 non honor class with a total of 6 classes); however, some of my honors classes are just as hard as APs but can't be classified as AP because of there is no AP test. For example, I take neuroscience (Which is very difficult) but will it still be viewed as most challenging if there is no AP available?

it all depends on how your indiv HS views it and whether or not you’ve actively pursued a rigorous curriculum. The title (AP or honors) isn’t as important as its actual rigor, as reported by your guidance counselor.

Often the school profile will indicate courses that are at AP-level or beyond. As mentioned above, the title of the course does not really matter; Spanish 2H is hardly in the same group as organic chemistry or multivariable calculus, as an example.

Generally no if your school offers both honors and AP in the same subject.

in every subject taht my school offered AP, I took AP; however, there are certain classes that i was interested in that could not be AP because there is not AP test (so for example I took honors African American Lit because AP African American Lit doesn’t exist)

If there were alot of classes that your school offered that are AP and you chose to take a different class, that was not AP, yes this will hurt you. IE: If you took african lit, but could have taken AP Lit, they would rather AP lit, they want the most challenging courses, that your school offers. So, if your school offers 10 various AP courses and you only took 4, and took 4 Honors classes, but someone else took 8 AP courses, who took the most rigorous course load? Person 2.
